Susan R. Field
Susan developed an interest in high-end design at an early age. She loved the classic detailing of her grandparents’ Tudor-style home in Briarcliff Manor, New York, as well as the beautiful antiques and tasteful fabrics that adorned her childhood residences in Nantucket, Massachusetts and Long Island’s Sands Point.
Her appreciation for the nuances of fine design deepened with a visit to “Fallingwater,” the richly detailed home created by Frank Lloyd Wright for her father’s friend, Edgar Kaufmann.
Following extensive travel throughout Europe and studies at the Royal Academy of Art and Croydon College of Art, Susan attended Parsons School of Design in New York, where she concentrated on fabrics and furnishings.
She opened her first design business in Tuxedo Park, New York, and focused on historical renovation of the area’s 19th century country homes.
After relocating to Naples, Florida, Susan’s work took her to Milan, Venice, Dusseldorf and Sotogrande on the Costa del Sol in Spain, as well as throughout the United States.
Now residing in South Carolina, Susan has completed a number of prestigious projects including the Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County, the restoration of the Historic Robert Mills Courthouse, Springdale Hall Club and numerous private homes.
Susan is an allied member of The American Society of Interior Designers.
